First time exhibiting here and hope I will be accepted next year. Lots of sales, very well organised. My only grumble was that I didn’t have time to go shopping myself!

Difficult year given their building programme had strongly affected both footfall (public unwilling to walk as far?) and the bitterly cold windy day. I was in the Christmas Marquee by College Road entrance too close to the cheese monger who then, understandably, had the heating turned off as it was right by his stall. So the day was freezing and the air freighted with the smell of old socks. Our sales were half last year’s takings. Car entry was nightmarish slow, single lane when there was space for 2, no idea about traffic control. Volunteers were good – followed up straight away when the loo was blocked, but didn’t want to be near the cheese….the other end of the marquee was very snug, so we were just unlucky.

First time trading at DC Christmas fair for SA[L]VAGE ART . I will work harder in prep for next year as I would like to be trading at this Fair again. Lots of lovely, appreciative punters welcomed by gifted artisans and makers. The atmosphere was superb. Thank you Friends of Dulwich College for organising such brilliant event I hope your charity raffle was a success.

This is my 5th year running and lucky for me had a fantastic sunny spot, the footfall was steady throughout the day, the volunteers went above and beyond always with a smike thank you so much for them, my only gripe was the traffic control as we wasted so much setting up time waiting to park and unload but other than that had a profitable day and looking forward to next year.

Our busiest day of trading in five years. Great mix of street food stalls. “Unfortunately” (!) was too busy to explore the rest of the fair. Pitch fees were NOT cheap but the footfall more than justified them. The only slight pain was packing up at the end – the traffic could have been directed more efficiently instead of letting each vehicle take up three spaces (for example) and making lots of us wait longer than we should have done. Other than that we’re really looking forward to next year 🙂

My first ever Fair of any type and very successful. I was in a very light area in the Christiensen Hall Foyer and was very pleased indeed with takings for my first time. Still expensive though, but will be back again.

A good fair, plenty of customers and a friendly atmosphere. On the expensive side at £100 a stall (including parking) but good trade

It’s my 3rd year, all of which have been great, it’s a risk as the pitch is so high but so far so good – Dulwich obvs loves coffee ! But I second all the comments about pack down, it was chaos, mainly due to other traders lack of consideration for others – the volunteers all did a fab job

t was our first year. It was a great experience, lots of lovely customers and a great organisation. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Sadly I was too busy to explore the other stalls.

On the positive side its well organised, volunteers very helpful, pretty good footfall. On the down side its expensive plus they charge an extra £10 to park your car on the grounds and relentlessly hound you for a raffle donation of a minimum £15 value

Not as good as previous years for me, not sure if it was the venue change. Awful set up, sitting in the car for ages. Volunteers are always nice though. Many of the vendors remarked that there were more cheaper imports on the stalls this year, instead of the usual emphasis on local makers – usually the nicest part of the show! But still a nice fair to do.

Positives – guaranteed footfall ALL day, no dips at all; great atmosphere; people are there to SHOP!; volunteers are fantastic, really well organised

Negatives – expensive (£80 would be more in line with other fairs); whopping £10 for parking; limitations to what you can do within your space (ie a standard space although there is room behind that is only for standing, no racks or rails allowed); raffle donation is a min of £15 which is pretty high for some people.

Summary – would definitely apply and love to do it again, try and get round parking issue, use table space better so no rail needed and not feel guilty about not donating to raffle!

This was my first year and I was very pleased with the fair’s organisation, selection of traders and footfall. The only downside would be the vehicle congestion in the morning to unload. It would also be great if the food, crafts and performances are closer to each other, as this would allow the visitors to move between each other without absenting from the three activities. As a trader it would be easier for us to get a coffee or a sandwich without leaving our stall unattended.

Positives – good footfall, lovely atmosphere, well organised. The volunteers were very helpful. Good mixture of stalls.

Downside – loading and unloading was very congested. Quite an expensive stall and tables too close together to the point of being claustrophobic. Any chance food/drinks stalls could be collated together in one area and crafters/gifts in another? In summary, would defo like to do again.

Good day for us in our 2nd year there as a hot food stall, a bit quieter than the previous year but think that was probably due to the change in layout. Overall though nice and well organised and we’d definitely be back.

Organisation on arrival was good, volunteers were helpful and friendly. Packing up was a free for all, no one seemed to know what was going on! Was in the Christmas marquee, space seemed smaller than advertised. Our first year and whilst there seemed to be a reasonable footfall, it wasn’t good for us in terms of sales so won’t be reapplying. Pricing too expensive considering £90 for stall, £10 to park and £15 donation to charity.

This was my first year at DC. It was an ok day – not fabulous but ok. Arrival was very badly organised but mainly due to sellers selfishly not off loading quickly and moving their cars/vans at once. We were queueing down College Road for some time. It was constantly busy and footfall good though there was little space for punters to pass through in the hall plus the layout where I was based, meant there was always a bottle neck/ some stalls blocked the walkway with their displays and shoppers just moved on without visiting. Hopefully I’d have a better spot another time. I would definitely love to try it again as always heard such good things!

Well organised with plenty of boys helping out with the carrying of stock which was much appreciated as this year there was a change of location due to building works and the parking/access was limited. Plenty of footfall – even upstairs where i was so would recommend to both sellers and buyers and the stall are diverse and interesting.

Second year here and it didn’t disappoint. Roughly the same number of sales as last year. Pleasantly busy without being stressfully bonkers. Hope to return next year.

It was our first time at this lovely Christmas Fair and we had a wonderful day. The footfall was fantastic and everyone was very appreciative of what we were selling. Sales were constant and excellent. The atmosphere was perfect too. I very much hope to be invited back next year. I too, wish there had been time to shop for myself!

Excellent Christmas Fair with a constant stream of shoppers all willing to spend money. Exhibitors need to arrive with plenty of time to set up as drop off is a bit manic. Plenty of hands to help unload as well.

Lovely, well organised fair with superb volunteers helping out.
However, my sales have gone down every year I have traded and unsure why. I feel there are so many fairs nowadays and every school/venue/organisation needs one to raise money in harder times perhaps.

The stall cost is rather expensive for a craftsperson to make a good profit so I would appreciate a lower fee for those of us who make items by hand locally or otherwise. And I feel we should choose the value of handmade stock to give to raffle.

The non food side of the event was fantastic and organised really well.
However, the food court was badly laid out with too many caterers onsite to be honest. There was also a lot of similar (crossover) foods such as wraps and burittos and two different hot dog stands.
For an event of this size you need at most eight hot food caterers with varied selections.

3rd time I’ve had a stall at this Dulwich fair – I take a Medium at a cost of around £160 inc parking. The pitch sizes are not over generous as the stalls are measured out precisely and packed tightly together so no extra room to spread out. Sales wise – consistently good – one of my best this time of year. Great footfall. I’m in the Christian hall upstairs. As with all events, it pays to get there early to avoid the rush of late set up as you need to unload then re-park. The college students are on hand to help you which really helps.

This was my second year at Dulwich and again it was well organised and well attended.
The footfall is good and sales consistent although I didn’t do as well as last year but I have heard that alot from sellers at other fairs as well.

We at Quirky Dovetail had an excellent fair. This was the second time we have had a stall and both 2017 and 2018 proved very profitable. The organisation is excellent and the organisers very smiley and helpful and we will continue to attend the show in the Christmas Marquee if invited back!
