The first Sunday of the month, April through to December, is Feast day in West Norwood. For the past seven years, this is the day when 5000+ locals take to the streets to enjoy their very own volunteer-powered street market festival.
West Norwood Feast is a community event built around 100 market stalls over five sites along the high street. It is run almost entirely by local volunteers who book the stalls and organise a full programme of free children’s activities and live entertainment. It is a farmer’s market, a craft fair, a flea market and a street food hub all rolled into one, yet the goal has always been to provide an experience that was wider than that.
The market is distributed around five sites;
Artisans’ Market (Chatsworth Way, SE24 9HR)
Food Fair (in the garden of St Luke’s church
Norwood High St, London SE27 0DT)
Retro Village (car park of Rosebery’s Auction Rooms, 74–76 Knight’s Hill, London SE27 0JD)
Family Hub (outside the West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre, Devane Way SE27 0DF)
Fresh & Green (along Norwood Road from the corner of York Hill, SE27 9AF).
